Michelle Thompson
Michelle’s research interests include technologies of resistance, archival preservation, and Francophone identities outside of Quebec.
Her current research examines new media as a space where cultural and linguistic identity in Canada are re-constructed as people move outside of Canada’s internal & external boundaries and borders. She recently presented a paper titled “Competing Histories in Shares Spaces” at the 2017 Association of Canadian Archivists conference where she looked at the importance of recognizing multiples voices in the interpretation and conservation of Canadian heritage.
Michelle recently published a book review of “Sustaining the Nation: The Making and Moving of Language and Nation, by Monica Heller, Lindsay A. Bell, Michelle Daveluy, Mireille McLaughlin and Hubert Noel”, and a peer reviewed article on simulation-based learning in post-secondary education.
