Priyanka Debnath

Priyanka Debnath is a Doctoral Candidate at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs. She is also a Graduate Fellow at the Centre for Refugee Studies at York University. Her research interests are in the areas of international labour migration, remittance and diaspora studies with emphasis on the gender dynamics within these fields. She has extensive experience working as a migration policy expert for the International Organization for Migration in Switzerland, Egypt and Bangladesh. She has also worked for the Centre for Trade and Economic Integration (Geneva), University of Oxford’s Global Trade Governance Project and the United Nations Fund for Women (now UN Women) in New York. Widely published in the field of migration and diaspora studies, Priyanka also consults on migration issues for national and international think tanks and UN agencies. She also serves as the Director for the Research and Development Institute based in Dhaka (Bangladesh).
