I currently am working at Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. Specifically working on place-based migration in Canada and spreading the benefits of economic immigration to smaller and rural communities.
Completing my M.A in Migration and Diaspora Studies has opened me to many opportunities and the chance to meet a network of other like minded folks who are interested in complex and diverse subjects within migration studies. This program allowed me to follow an array of research topics like the intersection of climate change and the future for those who are forcibly displaced due to environmental concerns, the importance of refugee and migrant participation at all levels of governance, and understanding the complex policies that affect migrants daily.
