Victoria Simmons is a PhD Candidate in Sociology at Carleton University. With support from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, she is currently working on her doctoral dissertation, which examines how brigandage has both directly and indirectly shaped human mobilities on the railways of southern Mexico over the past century. Victoria holds an M.A. in Latin American Studies from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and a B.A. in Development Studies from the University of Calgary.
