At the core of my research are a few guiding questions: What role do goals play in a life well lived? How can people identify and pursue goals that are consistent with their authentic selves—their values, interests, and talents? And what internal and external factors can disrupt this process? Grounded in Self-Determination Theory, my current work focuses on ADHD as one such factor. Specifically, I study how intrinsic and extrinsic forms of motivation relate to goal pursuit in individuals with ADHD, and how these dynamics shape their ability to make progress toward meaningful goals.
