Walker Wood Award
Awarded on the recommendation of the Director of the Paul Menton Centre, to up to three outstanding undergraduate students with a demonstrated permanent disability who are enrolled in any program of study at Carleton University.
This award may be renewed for 3 consecutive years of full-time enrolment (minimum of 3.0 credits over the Fall/Winter session). This award is valued at up to $6,000 the first year and renewable at $6,000 for 3 years. Established in 2019 by the Walker Wood Foundation.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must…
- be a Canadian citizen;
- have a documented permanent disability;
- be registered with the Paul Menton Center;
- demonstrate good academic standing;
- be an undergraduate student in first year and pursuing post-secondary studies for the first time;
- demonstrate financial need.
- Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate academic promise and leadership, participation in extra-curricular secondary school activities or community service
- Preference may be given to students who are passionate about advocating for disabilities

Applications open: May 1, annually.
