What are Learning Strategies?
Learning Strategies are the approaches students take and the techniques they use to help them better study, learn a new task, etc. in order to reach their goals.
We provide students with strategies and resources to build on specific academic skills like reading, writing, and studying. However, the best and most useful part of learning strategies support is that we consider and address the impact of your disability on your academic performance and we teach you how to learn.
We teach you how to learn by building metacognitive abilities and self-regulation skills. These are crucial for university students because it helps you become a smarter learner and achieve better results. These skills are at the core of learning how to learn effectively.
By developing metacognition, you gain a deeper understanding of how your own mind works, which means you can monitor your progress, identify areas for improvement, and adjust your learning strategies accordingly. Self-regulation skills allow you to take control of your learning process, set goals, make effective study plans, and stay motivated. When you combine metacognition and self-regulation, you become an empowered learner who can adapt to any subject or challenge, and ultimately, achieve academic success.
