I coordinate the Union Education Program at CUPW, a four-week residential school that serves as the fundamentals of union activism. Prior to that I taught sociology and criminology at the University of Ottawa. Paulo Freire and The Pedagogy of the Oppressed were central to my doctoral research on prisoner resistance and leadership development in the IRA and Sinn Fein. I have been a member of this advisory board since its inception and attend board meetings. In my spare time, I campaign for Irish Unity. I coordinate the James Connolly Irish Canadian Labour Coalition, and sit on the board of Friends of Sinn Fein Canada.
