I am a human rights and industrial relations professional with 25 years of experience at both the national and international levels. I have worked in a broad range of areas including grievance and rights arbitration, strategic research, political action, campaigning, negotiation of collective agreements, policy analysis, union development, and strategic planning.
I currently lead the negotiations team at the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC), Canada’s largest multi-professional union which negotiates 46 collective agreements in 7 different jurisdictions. Prior to leading negotiations at PIPSC, I led the research team which provided bargaining support to negotiations and public policy research. In addition to working with PIPSC, I have consulted and worked for other national unions in Canada on a variety of workplace issues.
Prior to my work with unions I was an official with the International Labour Organization in Geneva for nearly a decade, and specialized in the labour and employment impacts of foreign direct investment and corporate accountability, and provided advice to unions, governments, and employers in 40 different countries.
I obtained his LLB from the University of Ottawa (2008), a Masters in the Theory and Practice of Human Rights from Essex University in 1997 where I specialized in the Human Rights impacts of international economic activity.
