IEEE Carleton By-Election FY21-22 Notice
October 8, 2021
Dear All,
I hope this new term is going well for you all.
I am contacting you on behalf of the IEEE Carleton Student Branch to inform you that we are searching for dedicated students to fill positions within our executive team that are currently vacant in an upcoming by-election.
IEEE Carleton was established in 1981 and we have been running continuously for 38 years. We also have an Affinity Group, Women in Engineering (WIE), which helps us promote women in the field of engineering.
At IEEE Carleton, we are a team of officers, executives and volunteers who host events, organize workshops, hold competitions, and provide valuable academic services to students enrolled in the faculty of engineering and design.
We coordinate with other student clubs, cooperate with other IEEE branches; and reach out to professionals in industry and academic positions to improve the services the student branch provides.
Currently, we are looking for students to fill the following positions:
1. Co-Vice Chair
2. Secretary
3. Finance Director
4. Academic Director
5. Social Director
6. Competition Director
7. Technical Director
8. Volunteer Director
9. Media Director
10. Women in Engineering Chair
11. Women in Engineering Vice-Chair
12. SLAM Lead
Please see the document linked below for the roles and responsibilities of each of these positions. Filling an executive position is a great opportunity to meet new people and become a part of the IEEE community both within Carleton and around the world. Most positions are flexible in terms of responsibilities as well.
If you are interested in running for a position, please submit a platform in a similar style to the sample linked below, then send it to vicechair@ieeecarleton.ca. If you have any questions, please contact me, Hemant, at the same address.
