October 2020 Updates
The Senior Management Committee met on Oct. 28, 2020 and the following policies were reviewed and approved:
- Environmental Health and Safety Policy – Minor changes were made. Employees are required to complete specified Health and Safety training upon hiring or as new situations arise.
- Payments to Individuals & Business Entities – A change was made under “Gifts to Employees and Non-Employees.” Gifts can be made from university funds under specific circumstances and dollar amounts.
- Student and Visitor Trespass from University Property – The name of the policy was updated from “Student and Visitor Ban from Campus.” There is an addition of Interim Measures, the addition of a Definition Section, clarifications under Roles and Responsibilities section and the Appeal Process and Protocols.
- Student Communication Policy – Updates were made to encourage collaboration on student communications, the modernization of language, and the use of push notifications. Additionally, an update was made under the Advisory Committee Membership.
- Tobacco Smoking and Cannabis Consumption on Campus – The name of the policy was updated from “Smoking on Campus (Tobacco and Cannabis Consumption).” Minor substance changes were made.
- Workplace Harassment Prevention Policy – The contact list and reporting sections were updated to include Deputy Provost and Director of Labour Relations (Academic).
- Workplace Violence Prevention Policy – The contact list and reporting sections were updated to include Deputy Provost and Director of Labour Relations (Academic). There is also an additional reference to the Workplace Violence Prevention Program.
