January & February 2021

The Senior Management Committee met on Jan. 27 and Feb. 24 2021 and the following policies were reviewed and approved:

  • Public Art Policy – Changes were made to the committee’s composition to include the Assistant Vice-President (Indigenous Initiatives) and the Assistant Vice-President and University Advisor (Equity and Inclusive Communities). A reference is made to the Corporate Records and Archives Policy.
  • Weapons Policy – Minor changes, including reference to the newly named “Campus Safety Services.”
  • Students Rights and Responsibilities Policy – Major changes were made to this policy. Please visit the Student Affairs website for more information.
  • Healthy Workplace Policy – Responsible department has changed from the Office of the President and Vice-Chancellor to the Office of the Vice-President (Finance and Administration). Wording to the Statement of Policy was updated.
  • Procurement Policy – The responsibility was assigned to Procurement Services. A General Terms and Conditions section was added, and updates were made to Procurement Card Procedures and the Roles and Responsibilities Section.
  • Change of Name Policy – Minor updates made to the Procedures and Roles and Responsibilities sections. Additionally, a Definitions and Acceptable Use section was added.
  • Conference Services Space Booking Policy – The name of the policy was updated to Conference Services Space Booking Policy. The policy authority now falls under Housing and Residence Life Services. There are some procedural changes and an update under charges.
  • Data & Information Classification & Protection – No changes were made.
  • Flag Protocol Policy – Some minor changes were made to the Flag Policy. In addition to the other criteria, Carleton will now lower their flags on the National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism, Firefighters’ National Memorial Day and the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. The Pride flag will be flown in June.
  • Information Security Policy – Minor changes were made for clarity.
  • Student Accounts with a Debit Balance Policy – Minor updates. A Roles and Responsibilities section was added.
