How to Opt-Out

Students can apply to opt-out of the U-Pass if they:

Opt-Out Deadlines

Fall Term or Full Academic Year

September 14:

In order to receive a full refund, the UPASS must be returned before September 14. If they have already picked up the U-Pass, the student may still submit the opt-out application and they will receive a pro-rated fee adjustment.  There is no deadline to apply for an opt-out although opt outs must be filed during that academic term.

Winter or Summer Terms Only

January 14:

In order to receive a full refund, the UPASS must be returned before January 14. If they have already picked up the U-Pass, the student may still submit the opt-out application and they will receive a pro-rated fee adjustment.  There is no deadline to apply for an opt-out although opt outs must be filed during that academic term.

May 14:

In order to receive a full refund, the UPASS must be returned before May 14. If they have already picked up the U-Pass, the student may still submit the opt-out application and they will receive a pro-rated fee adjustment.  There is no deadline to apply for an opt-out although opt outs must be filed during that academic term.

Full & Pro-Rated Refunds

Refunds will be issued to the student’s account. Students who opt-out after the deadline or students who use their U-Pass will receive a pro-rated refund for the amount of time they had the U-Pass. The pro-rated refund schedule can be found here.
