Come celebrate National STEM Day with Virtual Ventures!

National STEM day is an opportunity to learn and celebrate the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).

By celebrating National STEM Day we hope to encourage youth to become involved in STEM and express that STEM is for everyone. As well, students and parents will have a chance to hear from current STEM students about what it’s like to study at Carleton and connect with some of Carleton’s STEM clubs. Family and friends are welcome to join us for this fun-filled day of STEM activities!

When: Saturday November 5th, 2022

Time: 9am-12pm

Location: Carleton University

Audience: Youth in grade K-8 and their family and friends

Cost: Free

Workshops:

Group Activity
Grade 1-3 Investigating science by completing hands-on science experiments.
Grade 4-6 Exploring technology through interactive coding activities using various computer programs.
Grade 7-8 Experience the exciting field of engineering and practice your problem solving skills through an engineering challenge that will be followed by a tour of Carleton’s engineering labs.

What is STEM?

STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. STEM focuses on innovation, critical thinking, creativity and problem solving. STEM is a crucial aspect of our changing world and the industry is ever growing.
