The conference brings together academics from Europe and Canada to consider the differences and similarities in academic approaches to and official policies of international conflict management on either side of the Atlantic. Panels will focus on the use of force in conflict management, intelligence, and human security. The conference will also examine the international approaches to conflict management and post-conflict reconstruction in Afghanistan, as well as the peace process in the Middle East. The conference will conclude with a discussion of the prospects for transatlantic cooperation in managing conflicts around the world.
