This one day conference will explore the patterns of Muslim and non-Muslim relations in Canada and the Russian/CIS contexts. Conference participants will explore a variety of issues related to Muslims in the East and West within their social, cultural and political contexts. Questions to be explored include: What are some commonalities and differences between the two communities? What are the areas that both communities can rely on for mutual understanding? What are the practical fields that one can explore for further and future collaboration?
Presented by Carleton’s Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (EURUS) and the Department of Political Science, The Carleton Centre for the Study of Islam (Ottawa), the Valdai Club (Moscow), and the Centre for Governance and Public Management (Carleton).
