At this year’s Fall Convocation on Saturday, November 12, History and Theory of Architecture (HTA) student Andy Burns will receive the 2022 President’s Medal. This prize is awarded to the Carleton student with the highest standing in a general degree program of studies. Andy is the first HTA student to receive this prestigious award. Throughout his time of study in the HTA program, Andy has been an ideal student, providing insightful comments in class discussion, writing well-researched and thought-provoking papers that fearlessly challenge historical assumptions, and collaborating with and supporting his fellow students throughout. Andy’s thesis project rethinking the history of English Baroque architecture opened significant potential pathways for future research. We heartily congratulate Andy on this well-deserved achievement.
