Professor Michael Windover will be appearing virtually as part of the Canadian Society for Ornamental Design’s ORNAMENTUM Lecture series. His talk – titled ‘Retailing Radio: How the T. Eaton Company Sold the Idea of Radio in 1920s-1930s Canada’ – will consider the role of the T. Eaton Company in promoting and fostering radio culture in Canada. It will look especially at radio catalogues produced by the retailer as visual evidence of how the new medium was imagined and sold to Canadian publics.
