Canada is recognized around the world for the influential media artists that have come out of this country and it is in large part due to the phenomenal and prolific work coming out of Rafael Lozano-Hemmer’s Montréal studio.
Beyond his brilliant artistic career and established position as a world leader in the field of media art, he is an advocate for social responsibility… His dedication to engaging the public, to presenting diverse audiences with new ways of interacting with art, with our environments and with each other has demonstrated creative leadership and innovation, inspiring artistic, technological and cultural communities in all parts of the world. His work offers challenging ideas and responds to the use and familiarity of technology in mainstream culture, while giving voice to the individual.
