Study Tour Dates:  May 9-May 27, 2011

The European Union (EU) Study Tour is a joint initiative of the European Studies Network (Canada), a consortium of Canadian universities of which Carleton is a member. The Tour consists of 19 days in Europe, involving consultations at a wide range of European institutions in Brussels, Strasbourg, Luxembourg, and Frankfurt. Students participating in the Tour may apply to participate in an internship (2 months or more) in a European institution; internships take place after the Tour.  Internships are unpaid, however the Network hopes to provide a travel grant to successful internship applicants, dependent on confirmation of funding.

A detailed brochure about the Tour  and internship can be found on-line at this link Information Handout for EU Study Tour 2011.

Application procedure: Applications to the Tour are made through each participating university.  For Carleton students, applications are to be submitted  by January 24, 2011 to EURUS, Attn: Joan DeBardeleleben, 1311 Dunton Tower, with “EU Study Tour” indicated clearly on the envelope. This does not include airfare or any tuition  fees in Canada; only a portion of meals in Europe are provided.
