Jan Douwe van der Ploeg, Wageningen University
Jan Douwe van der Ploeg is actively involved in several farmers’ initiatives such as the new ‘environmental cooperatives’ in the Netherlands. He is co-editor of Living Countrysides: Rural Development Processes in Europe – The State of the Art (Elsevier 2002). Dr. Van der Ploeg ‘s talk focused on European perspectives of local food production and services, along with new marketing structures.
