In this webinar, Dr Crina Viju discusses the recently-concluded Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between the European Union and Canada. Dr Viju is Assistant Professor at the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (EURUS), Carleton University.

Presentation Abstract: The recently signed agreement between the European Union and Canada provides commitments that go beyond the World Trade Organization (WTO), including the elimination of most tariff and non-tariff barriers to harmonization of human and labour standards and elimination of investment barriers. Studies released by European and Canadian officials estimate economic benefits for both parties. In this webinar, Prof. Viju will discuss the main achievements of this agreement and the challenges that will be faced by Canadian businesses once the agreement will be implemented.

The webinar took place on February 12, 2015.
