A talk by

André Noël Chaker, (BCL, LLB, MBA)

Finland has become known for its strong economy and firm position with respect to economic policy and bailouts in the European Union. Chaker’s latest book, The Finnish Miracle, analyzes the relationship between Finnish culture and the country’s socio-economic success. During the lecture Chaker will also reflect on the socio-political impacts of  provincial and federal policy as well as business practices in Canada.

Chaker is a Montreal-born lawyer (and graduate of McGill) and a widely-published author in the fields of law, governance, media, business, and technology. He currently deals with issues of sports integrity and the global fight against match—fixing in his role as Senior Advisor to the President of the Finnish Lottery Corporation.

The event is supported by the Centre for European Studies and the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies at Carleton University,

in cooperation with the Embassy of Finland, and in part, by a grant from the European Commission
