The Gordon Research Conference on fungal and algal toxins was attended by members of the Carleton University Chemistry Departments with alumni Miller Laboratory forming a major presence. This by invitation only meeting has a long tradition of a soccer game between the two scientific communities. For only the second time in more than two decades, the algal toxin team won the trophy. The 1-0 victory was captured by flawless goalkeeping and game MVP, top scorer Kim MacDonald from the McMullin Laboratory seen here accepting the trophy from the Conference chair, Prof. Alan Place of the University of Maryland. Carleton University alumnus Dr. Mark Sumarah was elected Co-Vice Chair for the next meeting and will Co-Chair the following biennial meeting.
