Picture This Co-op Photo Contest
Eligibility
The person entering the Contest must be a currently enrolled Carleton student who has either reached the age of majority in Ontario or obtained their parents’ consent. Contestants cannot reside in Quebec. Contestants cannot be current employees of Carleton University.
How to Enter
The Contest may be entered online only. To complete the official contest entry, participants must complete the online submission form. Participants may enter only one photo, accompanied by a written text of 300 words or less about their work term. Topics for the text may include:
- How you overcame the challenge of finding your work term
- One thing you wish you had known prior to beginning your work term
- Your best piece of advice for new co-op students
- One tip for a successful start to work term
- One tip that helped you in your job search
Late entries will be disqualified. The contest participant is responsible for ensuring meaningful consent was obtained for entries containing photos of individuals other than the contest participant. There is no fee to enter this contest, and no purchase or other consideration is necessary.
Prizes
- 1st place: $50 on contestant’s Campus Card
- 2nd place: $25 on contestant’s Campus Card
- 3rd place: Carleton Co-op Swag Bag
The prizes have no cash redemption value. Carleton University makes no express or implied warranties of any kind with respect to safety or performance of the contest prizes.
Selecting and Awarding the Prizes
Contest entries must be submitted by July 25, 2025, at 11:59 pm. On July 28, 2025, a jury of Carleton students and staff will be provided with all submissions to review and select the top three submissions based on the following selection criteria: relevancy, composition, quality of written text, technical quality, and overall impression.
The contest winners will be notified on August 5, 2025, and announced on the Carleton University Co-op and Career Services social media accounts between August 11 and 29, 2025.
Disqualification: If any one of the contest conditions is not met, the selected entrant will be disqualified and shall not be entitled to receive any prizes. Co-operative Education has the sole and absolute discretion to verify the information provided in the student’s entry form. If any information is deemed to be false, Co-operative Education reserves the right to disqualify that entrant in their absolute discretion and to select the second place winner as a potential prize winner. The decision of the aforementioned parties is final and binding, without any right of appeal.
