The newest edition of RACAR* has a strong presence of current and former Cultural Mediations PhD students. Congratulations to Dr. Heather Igloliorte, PhD 2013, for editing a fantastic volume which includes current students Alexexandra Nahwegahbow’s article “From Great-Grandmothers to Great-Granddaughters: “Moving Life” in Baby Carriers and Birchbark Baskets” and Stacy Ernst’s “Indigenous Sovereignty and Settler Amnesia: Robert Houle’s Premises for Self Rule.”  Dr. Igloliorte is an Assistant Professor in Art History at Concordia University in Montreal.

Dr. Anne de Stecher, PhD 2013, is teaching at the University of Colorado Boulder in the Department of Art & Art History, and has published an article, “The Art of Community,” while Cultural Mediations student, Christina Williamson offers a review of the National Gallery of Canada’s new galleries.
