Co-op Opportunity: Automate the Future of Photonics Fabrication
Are you a Python-savvy student looking to work on real-world automation in a high-tech environment?
We’re looking for a motivated co-op student to join our team at the Canadian Photonics Fabrication Centre (CPFC) to help automate recipe creation for advanced fabrication tools. You’ll be working closely with two senior engineers on a project that turns Excel-based process inputs into text-based fab recipes—a real bridge between software and hardware.
The Position
What you’ll do:
- Develop Python scripts to automate recipe generation
- Interface with process engineers to understand tool parameters
- Work hands-on at a world-class photonics facility
Bonus Point For:
- Experience with machine learning or data parsing
- An interest in semiconductors, photonics, or hardware-software integration
This is a rare chance to work at the intersection of automation and advanced fabrication—perfect for students in engineering, physics, or computer science looking to make an impact.
