About Our Guest Speaker
Mr. Salemi brings over 40 years of experience in high-tech, with deep expertise in systems, semiconductors, and optical connectivity across both Silicon Valley and Ottawa. His career highlights include:
- Current Role: Chief Business Development Officer at Ranovus, leading strategic partnerships in advanced optical interconnects
- Previous Experience: VP of Optical Transport at Inphi (now Marvell), Co-founder of Cortina Systems (acquired by Inphi), and CTO of Skystone (acquired by Cisco)
- Early Career: Contributed to innovations in VLSI and system design at Nortel/BNR, Mitel, and NewBridge
- Recognition: 2010 Faculty of Engineering Alumni Award of Excellence from the University of Ottawa
Mr. Salemi holds multiple patents and publications in semiconductor and optical system technologies. He earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Engineering from the University of Ottawa.
