Carleton University hosted the first pan-Canadian Model European Union organized by the EU Delegation to Canada on May 5th to May 7th . Simulating a meeting of the European Council, nearly 100 undergraduate and graduate students from across Canada (picture below) represented European Union member states to discuss the European Union’s Arctic Policy. 10 Carleton students, including 7 undergraduate and graduate students from EURUS, led by Prof. Crina Viju-Miljusevic (picture below), participated in the simulation, representing the countries of Greece, Denmark, Italy, Belgium, Croatia, and the European Commission. The Model European Union participants had the opportunity to meet the EU Ambassador to Canada Dr. Melita Grabrič at the pre-simulation reception at Chateau Laurier (picture below).
