The Jean Monnet Network on EU-Canada Relations is very pleased to present a lecture, “What came out of COP 27? Implications for Europe, Canada, and the Globe” with Prof. Dr. Miranda Schreurs, Technical University of Munich.
About the lecture: The presenter will examine what the main goals going into COP 27 were, what the main points of debate and discussion were, and what the outcomes of the negotiations mean for our ability to stay within a 1.5 degree C world. It will also consider greenhouse gas emission trends and the policies and programs of major actors.
About the presenter: Miranda Schreurs is Environment and Climate Policy Chair and Professor of the Bavarian School of Public Policy at TU Munich in Germany. Her main research areas are in international and comparative climate policy, environmental politics, and low-carbon energy transitions. She is involved in projects examining the energy transitions in Germany and Japan; climate policies of Europe, the United States, and China; and the politics of high-level radioactive waste disposal.
