Dr. Mukhtar Hajizada is an adjunct research professor with the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (EURUS) at Carleton University in Ottawa. Prior to this, Prof. Hajizada was at Harvard University’s Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies as a Fulbright Scholar during the academic year 2017-18. He was awarded a Jean Monnet Chair from the European Commission in 2014. His research and teachings focus on European integration, comparative regionalisms, security and regional cooperation in the wider Black Sea area and the South Caucasus, the European Union’s foreign and neighbourhood policy, research methods, and international relations theory.
