Laura Banducci Awarded SSHRC Partnership Engage Grant

Congratulations to Laura Banducci (College of Humanities), who was awarded a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Partnership Engage Grant in the May 2024 competition!

“Unknown Ottawa (4,000 BCE-1900CE): Curating the archaeology of Ottawa’s riverine landscape” is a research project in partnership with the National Capital Commission (NCC). It aims to mobilize resources and expertise in archaeology and digital humanities to contribute to the promotion and dissemination of the NCC’s extensive collection of archaeological artefacts from the Ottawa-Gatineau region. The project, grounded in community archaeology and outreach, takes a place-making and critical heritage studies approach.

The SSHRC Partnership Engage Grant provides short-term and timely support for partnered research activities that will inform decision-making at a single partner organization from the public, private or not-for-profit sector.
