Peter Raymont’s Award Winning Documentary “Shake Hands with the Devil: The Journey of Romeo Dallaire

The screening and director’s talk will be followed by a discussion and Q &A with the director, and moderated by Film Studies Professor Aboubakar Sanogo, on the theme: Documentary, Genocide and Humanitarianism.

White Pine Pictures’ president and founder, Peter Raymont, has produced and directed over 100 documentary films and series. Raymont has received over 52 international awards. His documentary Shake Hands with the Devil received a 2007 Emmy Award and A Promise to the Dead was shortlisted for an Academy Award for Best Documentary. He co-directed West Wind: The Vision of Tom Thomson, which has screened theatrically across Canada, and was nominated for four 2014 Canadian Screen Awards. Raymont is also Executive Producer of the hit CBC drama series, The Border and Cracked.
