The minimum requirement for admission to the M.A. program is a B.A. Honours with high honours standing (or equivalent GPA from a four-year degree program) in Film Studies or a related discipline. Related disciplines include Communication, Art History, Music, Literature, Indigenous and Canadian Studies, Women’s and Gender Studies, History, etc.
During the application process, you will be required to provide a number of documents:
- Official transcript(s)
- Statement of intent (1-2 pages describing your reasons for pursuing an M.A. degree in Film Studies at Carleton)
- One writing sample (an example of your scholarly writing, preferably on a topic that is film or media related)
- Two letters of recommendation
