Evan Read Armstrong (Film Studies MA 2016) was recently hired as the Ottawa Festival Coordinator for the InsideOut LGBT Film Festival.
Evan defended her M.A. thesis, entitled “The Acisted Eye: Transgender and Intersex Bodies in Cis-Authored Film and Television” in May of 2016. Her thesis focused on mainstream depictions of transgender and intersex people created by cis-gender filmmakers. Recently, she has been hired by the Inside Out LGBT Film Festival to coordinate and organize the Ottawa division. Inside Out is a film festival that works to promote, produce and exhibit films and videos created by and about gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans (LGBT) people of all ages.
The festival will run November 11 to 13, 2016.
