We will be hosting scholar Dr. Michele Lewis, professor and psychologist visiting from Winston-Salem State University, NC, USA, and a 2023-2024 Fulbright Distinguished Chair, Arts and Social Sciences.
Dr. Lewis will pursue a research project centering Black-identifying persons who commonly also identify as 2SLGBTQ+. The virtual experience will bring together U.S. and Canadian participants to explore human connection, identity, spirit, and authentic expression. She centers non-western frameworks in Black Psychology, cross-cultural experiences, and cultural neuroscience among marginalized populations. She writes a monthly blog for Psychology Today, entitled Cultural Neuroscience: The Social Life of Our Brains.
