It is with sadness that the Department of French announces the passing of Dr. Peter Clive on June 21, 2022. He had just turned 97.
Dr. Clive was a professor of literature and former Chair in the Department of French at Carleton University, where he worked from 1969 to 1992. Those who had the chance to work with him – many retired faculty members, staff and even a former student who is now a current faculty member – shared warm memories of Dr. Clive upon learning of his passing, remembering his kindness and how much they enjoyed learning from and working with him.
