I am fourth year student in the Physical Geography M.Sc program under the supervision of Jesse Vermaire. I am currently working on my thesis project where I am investigating the use of chironomid-based transfer function models to reconstruct July air temperatures in the Yellowknife region. Specific changes in chironomid assemblages will also be identified and analyzed in response to recent environmental changes.
After earning a B.Sc in Physical Geography in 2008 from Carleton, I pursued a career in teaching. I have both my Canadian and British teaching certifications, and I have been teaching full-time Geography, Science and Environmental Science at a local independent school since 2012. Teaching the International Baccalaureate Environmental Science course and running the Duke of Edinburgh program rejuvenated my passion for scientific exploration within the field of physical geography so in 2016 I decided to return to Carleton to further my studies in this field.
