Olivia Meier-Legault
My interest in nature conservation and traditional sciences led me to pursue an undergraduate degree in environmental science at the University of Ottawa. It was there that an elective course on permafrost propelled me to pursue a master’s degree in the field.
In September 2023, I started a MSc under the supervision of Stephan Gruber on a project seeking to reveal changing permafrost conditions in Canada from ground temperature observations. With this work, I hope to improve upon permafrost monitoring and produce information that supports decision-making in the north.
