I am a MSc student working on permafrost with Dr. Stephan Gruber. I completed my BCs in Physical Geography and Ecosystem Analysis at Lund University in Sweden, where my Bachelor thesis focussed on modelling of arctic coastlines under a changing climate. My interest in permafrost stems from growing up in Whitehorse, YT, and seeing the changes that thawing permafrost brings to a landscape. My work focusses on modelling of permafrost in heterogeneous steep bedrock slopes in western Canada. This means I spend a lot of time indoors, but I relish the time I can spend outside installing thermistors – like summer 2023 in Dawson City! Outside of my thesis, I love orienteering, hiking, spending time with family and friends, and reading.
