Pressed Flowers Workshop

Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm

Dawn Schmidt is a pressed flower art enthusiast, proud gardener, and Carleton employee. Staff and faculty are invited to join Dawn and Healthy Workplace for an in-person workshop exploring the basics of pressed flower art and creating your very own.

“With spring and summer come the beauty of gardens full with vibrant colours and delicate blossoms. Let’s come together to create a pressed flower and foliage keepsake or two. In this workshop you will make a 5 x 7″ greeting card and start on a piece you can frame later. A colourful assortment of flowers will be provided by our workshop guide who harvested and pressed petals and leaves over the last 2 years. I will guide us to arrange and design a keepsake card. The details revealed in this old fashioned practice will surprise you!”

Dawn Schmidt, Institute Administrator for Comparative Studies in Literature, Art and Culture

NOTE: Please refrain from using scented products on the day of this workshop and if you have seasonal allergies you may want to take an antihistamine.
