International Public History Journal CoverIn December 2018 “In Podcasts We Trust? A Brief Survey of Canadian Historical Podcasts” authored by second year MA in Public History students Cassandra Marsillo and Nathalie Picard was published in Vol. 1.2 of the new online journal, International Public History. They highlight the exciting and growing historical podcast scene in Canada, including Carleton MA in Public History grad Sebastian Major’s popular podcast Our Fake History and Carleton Professor Sean Graham’s Active History podcast. Asking the question, “Can we trust historical podcasts?”, they examine how each podcaster develops a relationship with their audience and convey expertise on the topics they discuss. The same issue features a special section of articles on Fallen Monuments around the globe, edited and with an introductory article by Professor David Dean who co-edits the journal with Dr Andreas Etges of the University of Munich.
