group of students standing around a door on a cartA door that once stood inside the Dome Mine (Timmins, Ontario) is covered in layers of inscriptions, detailing the thoughts of the miners who worked in this gold belt. Public history students taking Professor David Dean’s HIST 5707: Narrativity and Performance in Public History used their imagination and research training to explore this graffiti and bring it to life. You can watch a recently released short documentary on this collaborative project between Carleton Public History and Ingenium, Canada’s Museums of Science and Innovation in French or English.
