Rod Phillips now has a page on shepherd.com

Shepherd.com is a quite new website where authors are invited to introduce one of their own books and recommend books by other authors on the same or a related topic. Each entry is called The Best Books on….. The website already lists hundreds of authors, many of them historians. It’s a useful starting point when looking for books on a specific subject – and it will be searchable by the end of January 2022.
Rod’s page is The Best Books on the History of Wine. He introduces his book, French Wine: A History (University of California Press, 2016, paperback 2020) and four other books: a history of champagne; a global history of wine; a study of the famous 1855 classification of Bordeaux wines; and an anthropological analysis of the notion of terroir in Burgundy..
