David Dean co-authors Articles on Diasporic Dining Practices

David was one of several authors of two recent publications arising out of the Designing Domestic Dining collaborative project led by Carleton art and architectural history professor Michael Windover. “The Ingredient of Space. Reflections on Diasporic Dining Practices” by Michael Windover, Helin Burkay, David Dean, Emily Gann, and Dorthy Stern has just been published in a special issue on Spatial Stories of Migration edited by Ipek Mehmetoglu and Julia Tischer in the Journal of the Society for the Study of Architecture in Canada vol. 49, no. 2.  An earlier article, “Food, Material Culture, and Memory. Ingredients in the Diasporic Making of Home” by Charlie Laghi-Ford, Michael Windover, and David Dean,  was published in Mindful Conversations: Design and Culture, Adda: A Place for Conversations (2024) edited by Debasri Basu, William Willoughby, and Pallavi Swaranjali.
