Did you know the Microsoft Authenticator app works to authenticate you even when you are not connected to Wi-Fi, or if you don’t have active cell service? To authenticate using the app when you are out of network range, do the following:

  • On the Carleton login screen, after entering your MyCarletonOne password, you will be prompted to enter the displayed number into your phone. Instead of entering the number, select “Use a different verification option”

The Use Different Verification Options prompt

  • Select “Use verification code from mobile app or hardware token”. You will be taken to a page to enter the code you will generate in the next steps of this tutorial.

The "use a verification code" option

  • Using the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone, select your MyCarletonOne username.
