As of Jan 1, 2025 registering security questions for your MC1 account was no longer mandatory, however it is a requirement for self-serve password resets. If security questions were not set please call the Service Desk at 613-520-3700 to have your MC1 password reset.
Every time you update your MyCarletonOne password you must also update the password stored in all your connected wireless devices. Failure to update a stored password can result in automatic lock-out due to repeated, unsuccessful login attempts
If on campus it is recommended you forget the CU-Wireless or EDUroam networks on your device(s) before resetting your password
Step 1: Change your MyCarletonOne Password
- Go to: https://MyonePassword.carleton.ca/
- Enter in your Username (firstnamelastname) in the User ID field
- Click on Next – If you receive an error of “Incorrect MC1 details” You have mistyped your username or have not registered your security questions.
- Answer at least 3 of the security questions you registered via https://myonesetup.carleton.ca
- Click Next
- Enter a new Password and re-enter to confirm
- Click Next
- Click Finish
- Restart your computer
Forgot your password?
- If you have forgotten your password, follow the same steps as above to log into the Password Self-Service portal and set a new password.
Step 2: Update your password on your device
- To update your password on iPod/iPhone/iPad devices
To update your CU-Wireless and/or Eduroam password on an iOS device:
- Open Settings
- Click Wi-Fi Networks
- Select CU-Wireless or Eduroam (press on CU-Wireless or Eduroam–not arrow–to bring up authentication prompt)
- Enter Username in the following format
- firstlast (CU-Wireless)
- firstlast@cunet.carleton.ca (Eduroam)
- Enter your new Password
- Select Join on the on-screen keyboard
To update your Exchange password on an iOS device:
- Open Settings app
- Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
- Under Accounts, select your Exchange mail (e.g. firstlast@cunet.carleton.ca)
- Select Account Info
- Update Password field
- Press Done
- To update CU-Wireless and/or eduroam on Windows 10

To update your CU-Wireless and/or eduroam password on Windows 10:
- Right click on the start button
and choose Settings.
- Select Network & Internet.
- Select Wi-Fi on the left hand side.
- Click on Show available networks.
- Select CU-Wireless or Eduroam and click connect.
- Enter your MC1 Username and new Password
- To update your password on an Android device

Please note: Due to the many versions of Android, the following may not apply to your device.
- Click the Menu button and select Settings
- Locate and select Wi-Fi from the settings menu
- Select either CU-Wireless or Eduroam to configure
- Choose one of the following sets of options (depending on the version of Android):
- Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2
- Identity: firstlast (CU-Wireless) or firstlast@cunet.carleton.ca (Eduroam)
- Password: new password

- Identity: firstlast (CU-Wireless) or firstlast@cunet.carleton.ca (Eduroam)

- Select Connect
- To update your password on a Mac

To update your CU-Wireless and/or Eduroam password on a Mac:
Please note: If at any time you are prompted for your CU-Wireless or Eduroam password while following the instructions below, enter your new MyCarletonOne password, and no further action is required.
- Open System Preferences
- Click Network
- Select Wi-Fi from the selection menu on the left and click the Advanced… button
- Locate and select CU-Wireless or Eduroam from the Preferred Networks list
- Click the – button and click OK
- Click the Apply button
- Select either CU-Wireless or Eduroam from the list of available Wi-Fi networks
- Enter Username (e.g. firstlast) and new Password when prompted
- Click Join
To update your Exchange password on a Mac:
Please note: These instructions apply to the latest version of Mac OS X (10.12.6) using the Mail app (mail.app) configured to connect to Exchange mail at Carleton.
- Launch the Mail app
- From the menu bar, select Mail and then Preferences…
- Click on Accounts
- Select the Exchange account and then click on Server Settings
- Update Password field
- Click on Save

Forget the CU-Wireless or Eduroam connections prior to changing your MyCarletonOne password. This will prevent automatic lock-out due to repeated, unsuccessful login attempts.
- To forget CU-Wireless and/or Eduroam on a Mac

- Open System Preferences
- Click Network
- Select Wi-Fi from the selection menu on the left and click the Advanced… button
- Locate and select CU-Wireless or Eduroam from the Preferred Networks list
- Click the – button (i.e. the minus sign icon below the network list) and click OK
- Click the Apply button
- To forget CU-Wireless and/or Eduroam on Windows 10

If “Forget” is greyed out, this step not required
- Open Settings.
- Select Network & Internet.
- Select Wi-Fi.
- Click on manage known networks.
- Search for CU-Wireless or eduroam.
- Click on the network name, and then click Forget
