The 2016-17 Marston LaFrance Research Fellowship has been awarded to MDS scholar and Professor of Sociology Daiva Stasiulis.
The fellowship was established in 1979 in memory of Marston LaFrance, former Carleton Dean of Arts, and is intended as the “senior” award for faculty in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences with a very significant track record of outstanding research. It is awarded in order to facilitate the completion of a major research project that requires significant release time, and Prof. Stasiulis will use the fellowship to complete work on her book, The Emotional Cartography of Citizenship: The Lebanese Diaspora in the Shadow of War.
