As a content warning, please note that this webpage includes information about gender-based violence and sexual violence. We understand that this can trigger strong reactions and we encourage the community to connect with Carleton University’s Sexual Assault Support Centre and/or Health and Counselling Services for support. Additional community supports can also be found here.
December 6 is Canada’s National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women (White Ribbon Day) which commemorates the 14 women killed in the horrific 1989 École Polytechnique massacre.
On this day, we remember those who have experienced gender-based violence and those who we have lost to it. Community members are encouraged to wear a white ribbon and join the call for an end to gender-based violence.
