Lily Schricker, a recent graduate from NPSIA, marking a significant milestone in her academic journey. Lily’s graduation elicits a mix of emotions, including feelings of accomplishment and contentment. While she completed her program during the summer, her transition into law school in the fall added an intriguing layer to her academic adventure.

Lily’s educational path began with a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Politics at Bishop’s University, situated just a couple of hours away from Montreal. Her subsequent decision to pursue a Master’s degree at NPSIA was influenced by various factors, including her initial interest in diplomacy and foreign policy.

What drew Lily to NPSIA? Several compelling factors played a crucial role. The school’s strategic location in Ottawa, Canada’s political epicenter, offered a unique advantage. The close proximity to the Canadian government and NPSIA’s reputation for fostering connections with the public service were major attractions. The program’s distinctive structure, with various concentrations and the flexibility to specialize in specific fields, further solidified her choice. The blend of academic and practical elements, along with opportunities for co-ops and internships, set NPSIA apart.

A pivotal aspect of Lily’s NPSIA journey was the extensive networking opportunities and insights gained through the Ambassadors’ Speaker Series. The program instilled in her the ability to think critically, scrutinize information, and express her thoughts effectively, skills crucial in any field.

NPSIA also provided unique opportunities, such as participating in a diplomacy training school at Laval University, thanks to connections facilitated by Professor Michael Manulak. Lily appreciated the one-on-one support and mentorship from the faculty.

Now, Lily is embarking on her next academic venture, entering law school. Her time at NPSIA has left her well-prepared and confident to face the challenges that lie ahead.

To all prospective NPSIA graduates, Lily’s message is simple: You have earned your place at this exceptional school. Be bold, express your thoughts, and stay true to your beliefs. Your time at NPSIA will equip you for a successful future in public service.
